The Big S(hite)!!

Once again, Sinyard and the boys in Morgan Hill show that they hate their dealers....

Only in America!

I'd tell my Specialized Rep to get his ass to the store to get a correct inventory of his OWN shit.  Then he could load it into a U-Haul, and take it.  Dictating what an independent small business can sell and not sell...buncha dicks.

With the refund check from Specialized, I'd bring in Scott, Cannondale, Felt or Jamis...or all of them...

I have 4 Specialized bikes in the ManHole(tm)...the Boss' Sirrus, and a bike for each member of Junior Management.  Seriously considering putting them all on Craigslist or Ebay.  I have no dog in this fight, but it's just dirty pool.

I have, however, ordered 6 new h2o bottle cages for my 3 bikes.  All have Spec cages...not for long...

Gonna send a note to my buddy at the beach who's a Spec dealer...see what he has to say...

While I don't agree with Special Eyes or buy their product, I can see their point of view; however, they need a new PR person. Trek stores only sell Trek bicycles and Bontrager accessories. Some smattering of Park as well, but for the bikes themselves it is Trek or nothing. It looks like Special Eyes is trying the same, just shooting themselves in the foot by using bad verbiage. IMO I'd do the same as you suggest, don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out.

Actually, Trek allows it's dealers to have other lines. Trek just has to comprise a certain, very LARGE, percentage of total sales. I think Trek is a company of weasels too, and will NEVER buy anything from them.
Outspokin' is a Trek dealer, and sells Focus, and some other stuff. And Tim at Grand Strand in MB was looking at a second line to go with Trek to bolster sales.

Specialized making demands on their dealers, such as a complete inventory of other lines is ridiculous.

I'm wondering what Cycle Center is gonna do, considering they're one of the biggest Cannondale dealers in the Southeast.
They also sell Masi, Fuji, and a smattering of Pinarello and Merckx.

If I were Tim I'd be leaning back to Raleigh after their 2013 release. Those were some sweet, while somewhat inexpensive, looking rigs. I don't know of anyone carrying BH, Focus (besides CC) or Orbea.

The Raleighs do look nice. In the late 90s, we sold the shit out of them @ the shop I managed in Florida. Low-end and cruisers. Their higher end offerings weren't bad, even back then. I had a Raleigh M800 MTB. Judy fork with LX/XT mix. I really liked it.

I truly question shops who sell stuff that you can get from Performance, or other online discounters. Focus is a big one. CC doesn't carry Focus...Outspokin' does. They seem to be great bikes, but can always be had online for well off retail.

Orbea? oooof! I wouldn't have an Orbea if you gave it to me...

I would like to see a Wilier dealer in town. Pretty sweet bikes but I don't know their marketing practices

Hawley Company wholesaled Wilier for a while, but they just didn't move. Very cool bikes, but expensive, and a dodgy dealer network. Makes for trouble when a warranty is needed. They now do their own importing, so it might be a bit better.
